Making a workflow available to EStudio only
I would like to create workflow that is available only to EStudio users and not in CCPro. And vice-versa - I want to be able to config our existing workflows so that they are only available in the CCPro view and not when they initiate the workflows from EStudio. We have a very unique implementation we are building in…

EStudio End User Form - Text Field - Validation Regex
This should be simple, but there are absolutely no technical documents for EStudio, so nothing is simple with EStudio development. I have opened a support ticket, but even the support folks don't seem to know much about EStudio under the hood. What I am trying to do is solve this simple requirement: The input text field…

TS 16.x - Migrate Favorites from one server to another
I had a procedure from back in the TS 7.x days for migrating Favorites when upgrading to new servers instead of in-place. Support gave me a process back then, which doesn't seem to work now in 16.x. Has anyone successfully migrated user's Favorites with 16.x as your target server? This is Linux if it matters.

Perl PostProcessor Script Failing - did not return the correct value
Created the simplest perl script to be used as a PostProcesser script in a WFM on Linux. All I have in the script is a list of possible input paramas the WFM sends the script so I know what I'm getting, if anything. Ultimately all I want to do is use a value from the instantiation form to be set as an extended attribute on…

Do you rotate your ssl_error.log? If so, how are you doing it?
I have found that because TS doesn't naturally rotate its SSL logs, they are growing to a ginormous size, and I would like to create a rotation config for these logs, but I'm not sure if/where I can do that or if I have to create my own rotation script for them. Has anyone done it on Linux?

TS 16.4.1: Searching on Extended Attributes that Contain a Space is Not Working
I have found another bug in TS 16.4.1 Search, where if you have an extended attribute that contains a space in it's name ("Expiration Date" for instance), then the search will return wildly inaccurate results. The bug lies in the fact that when the search query is built, the process (I'm not sure where the blame lies)…

SOLR will not run from systemd
RHEL 7.5, TS 16.4.1 I have installed Zookeeper and SOLR and created wrapper scripts to run SOLR as non-root. When I run my scripts from the command line, they work beautifully. SOLR starts and I can see it's status on the browser. Perfection. However, when I attempt to create the systemd service and run my scripts from the…

TS 16.4.1: Can I turn off Tika XML Parsing in SOLR?
I just got TS 16.4.1 up and running, and also the Indexer working with SOLR and Zookeeper. While indexing our content, I noticed some errors scroll by as I tailed the index logs. There were a lot of XML Parsing errors reported. A closer look revealed that it was parsing our HTML fragments and declaring the "XML" invalid…

SOLR Requires username/password for TeamSite Connector - Why?
Now that I have SOLR running, I attempted to index my backing store, only to discover that I need to create a TeamSite Connector for SOLR first. The instructions for this are pretty much embedded in the Help feature for the Connector - they should also be in the Product Docs, but that's a whole other rant. I'm curious why…

Migrating to Zookeeper in Linux - assuming you have JAVA_HOME set
I am setting up a new install of 16.4.1 on Linux and got to the part where I am supposed to install Zookeeper on the Search server to support SOLR. The instructions are simple enough, but the silly thing wouldn't start. It says it started but it didn't stay started. The process wasn't running. Looking at the log that isn't…

Pass Current User to Custom Menu Item Script
This can't be a new problem, but using the search feature in this forum is maddening. Has anyone been able to successfully pass as a parameter the user who is selecting a custom menu item script - ideally to a perl script? If so, can you please tell me how you did it?

TS 16.3 DCT Form:Finish button not working when Containers used in the form
I may be completely off my rocker on this one, but I've tested this and been able to reproduce it and it is behaving this way in our existing Production server on DCT forms that have not been touched in years. It appears that in TS 16.3, if you have a DCT form that utilizes tags, the Finish button on the DCT form will not…

File->Move allows a user to copy a file to a path where the user has no write permissions
This is a huge security breach. TS version 16.3 Linux. File->Copy restricts properly a user from copying a file into a path where the user has no write permissions. But File->Move allows the user to copy the file into a path where the user is not allowed to write. Opened a support ticket.

Graphical installers are not supported by the VM - RHEL 7
Having some trouble getting the GUI installer to install OD Receivers on a new RHEL 7 VM where I've had all the necessary 32-bit libraries installed, exported the display to my Windows PC's IP address, and set up my Xwin server to add the VM as an xhost. This same setup worked fine to install TeamSite and OD Base on…

Fun with the In-Browser Editor and OpenText Engineering
We opened a support case with OT over the lovely new in-browser editor regarding the search feature and how it doesn't use case properly when searching: When I used the in browser editor and tried to search for a word "Companion" it didn't find the text. Note: The file content has both "COMPANION" and "companion". * So…

Preparing to Install 16.3 on RHEL 7.3
Because I was unsuccessful in begging OpenText to live up to them supporting version 7.5 till 2020 as they published they would before pulling it back to 1/1/18, I am forced to put myself through another upgrade to a new version - this time 16.3. We are getting everything set up to do a full fresh install rather than an…

Naming Conventions Are Important
One of our people tripped on something yesterday because someone did something they shouldn’t have and it uncovered something in the new in-browser editor that may or may not matter to you, depending on how you look at it. It doesn’t matter to me because we specifically tell people to not do this, so it’s not something I…

DCT New Data Field Limitation in 7.5.0.4 - Unable to Save DCR
We have discovered a data field limitation in 7.5.0.4 that does not exist in 7.5.0.1 that is preventing us from being able to save DCRs and is suddenly a showstopper for us from upgrading in Production. Luckily we tripped on this issue in QA as we were scheduled to upgrade in Prod this Friday. One of our more significant…

In-Browser Editor Adds DOS ^M Carriage Return Chars to Every Line
This appears to be a fairly major bug in the new in-browser editor in the 7.5.0.4 and 8.x (I assume) versions of TeamSite that have replaced the Java Applet editor. I'm creating a new thread on this because I think it's significant. I created a support case for this - haven't received word back from OpenText confirming…

End of Life Info for TS
I can't find anything on the support site for this and I don't feel like creating a ticket for just this - does anyone have the current (latest) end of life dates for the active versions of TeamSite? I'm specifically interested in 7.5.x.

Configuring Apache for Preview
I have installed TS 7.5 on a new RHEL test server in anticipation of vetting out a planned upgrade prior to installing the upgrade in our Dev/QA/Prod environments. We have always had Apache running locally on separate mounts, and Apache is set up by a web services team separate from our team. Apache is running and I am not…

Workflow UI Customization Help
We currently have customized the bottom pane (Task Details) of the Task view in the workflow tab to add a new field to display called Submit Comments. These are the initial comments the user enters when they instantiate the workflow, and we display those in that Task Details pane. I will attempt to attach a screen shot…

Instantiation form entry - can I reference in the WFM?
I feel pretty dumb for asking this because I should probably know the answer. Is there any way to reference values the user has chosen in the instantiation form for a workflow in the WFM task variables? The use case is that I have an instantiation form that allows the user to select (via checkboxes) the servers where they…

OpenDeploy integration with Adobe DAM product
I'm just looking for some high level ideas here. Marketing is going to be using Adobe's DAM product for managing their digital assets (there is a significant push to not use any more Interwoven products here), and the DAM software is going to live in Adobe's "cloud", basically on a server outside our network. We are going…

Corrupted User current_vpath Setting
We have a user whose current_vpath (the path the user is automatically sent to when they log in) is a non-existent path (current_vpath=//qaiwvxx/default/iwconfig/STAGING) and the user gets a Null Pointer error immediately upon login and can do nothing in the CCPro view in TeamSite. It comes up with a blank page. I can view…

DCT: TinyMCE Rich Text Field - onItemChange not triggering on Save
I have a DCT that requires the user to click on a callout button any time the user changes any of the data in the form. The callout does some behind-the-scenes validation of the data and some other fun stuff. I have the typical "onItemChange" event handlers set up for each form field, and it's working as expected, except…

Yet another DCT Date Picker Thread
I am trying to implement my first calendar date picker callout in a DCT and I'm close but it's not completely working yet. Another co-worker implemented a date picker in TagUI so I stole all that code for my DCT. It works in TagUI. I click on the callout button, the calendar widget appears, I click on a date and it closes…
