Dynamic destination folder during configuration of library profiles
- Can multiple library profiles be associated with one SharePoint library?
- For automated archiving, is there a way to dynamically specify a folder destination when creating a library profile for automated archiving?
Basically, the client today is creating a SharePoint site for every Project they have. In Content Server, each project will be a folder with the same sub-folder structure underneath it (more or less).
SharePoint: Content Server:
Project A – SharePoint Site 1 Project A Folder
Doc Library – all doc types Project A Subfolder 1
Project A Subfolder 2
Project B – SharePoint Site 2 Project B Folder
Doc Library – all doc types Project B Subfolder 1
Project B Subfolder 2
When setting up the library profile configuration for each site, is there a way to dynamically specify the destination folder in Content Server based on what the document’s metadata fields are (ex. Document type “X” from SharePoint Site 1 should go to Subfolder 1 in Project A and the same Document type “X” in SharePoint site 2 should go to Subfolder 1 in Project ?
Or is the destination folder path hardcoded for every library profile created and the user will have to edit that every time a new SharePoint site is created?
I.e. Every time a business user creates a SharePoint site, they should not have to re-configure the library profile’s destination folder to ensure that certain document types go to the right place within Content Server.
What are the options for configuring the destination folder during creation of a library profile?
Thanks so much,
Shilpi
