Accessing content store via Storage Area Network

We are investigating the use of a SAN for hosting our TeamSite content stores, with hopes that two Teamsite servers in different locations can access the same store (not at once). We would like to have an EMC Celerra holding our content stores (in one of two data centers) and have each TeamSite server mounted to that Celerra. This would theoretically allow us to host TeamSite at data center A, and be able to failover to TeamSite at data center B if need be with minimal downtime.

Does anyone have prior experience with this type of disaster recovery architecture, and/or are there any limitations of the software that would prevent us from accessing content stores over NFS?
Experience or lessons learned from working with a SAN environment would be especially helpful here.
