DCT History Annoyance

Because the DTD references in DCTs are always invalid, trying to view past versions of a DCT through file history in the browser just shows errors. As far as I can tell the only way to view the previous versions is to revert. Does anyone have a workaround? It's an annoying bug but it's probably not significant enough to prioritize with a feature request.
