Setting HomePage

System

We have recently migrated to 5.5 and I've had several users report that they cannot set their homepage. I have the same problem myself. As I log in as different roles, my homepage setting is distinct, but does not seem to change (I've set it once, but am unable to change it). Is there anything I can do to get their home page set?
