Following is a partial listing of new features in 6.0:
Enterprise Scalability: Includes SNMP support, routed deployments, hierarchical organization of deployment configs, and other configuration enhancements.
Unified Distribution Architecture: Combines OpenDeploy and DataDeploy functionality; allows metadata deployment between TeamSite areas.
OpenDeploy Adaptive Architecture: Programmatic frameworks for integrating deployments with arbitrary source and target touch points.
Intelligent Delivery Module: Adds metadata-based publication/expiration and content syndication features.
ContentServices for OpenDeploy: Web services interface for programmatic access to OpenDeploy functions.
Other Improvements:
+ Receiver-side queuing to manage path conflicts among concurrent deployments
+ Multiple instances of a Base Server or Receiver may run on the same host
+ Directory outside target root can be used for transient files during deployments
+ Reduced number of ports for administration and reporting
+ Delivery of code updates to IBM WebSphere application servers
The OpenDeploy 6.0 BETA will run on Windows, Solaris, and Linux. (Support for AIX and HP-UX is targeted for the general release.) If using with TeamSite, OpenDeploy 6.0 is compatible with TeamSite 5.5.2 and higher.
