Workflow-Repeated Email Notification

Hi,

I have a very specific requirement. If an assigned task is not transitioned within 24 hours after the task become active then repeated email notification should be sent to the owner of the task at every 24 hrs interval. But after say 4 days the task should get timeout to its successor.

I can implement the repeated email feature by setting a timeout for the task at 24 hrs and making the email taks as successor. But my question is how can I differentiate between this 24 hrs time out and 4 days timeout?
Is multiple level of timeouts allowed or possible to implement?
