I'm getting annoyed, what about you ?
I don't know for you but I'm getting a bit annoyed by people sending me direct Private Messages to ask technical questions.
Isn't the purpose of such a community to help each other and most importantly, learn from each other's problems and resolutions ?
The thing that kills me is that usually, I tell those users that I don't provide private support (specially for free ;-) and that's it but sometimes they insist. Most of the time, saying they asked to the forum and didn't get an answer.
I assume that if they ask me directly, it is because they saw that I try as much as possible to help and give answers in the forums, if that's true, why, in the name of my sanity, would I not answer a specific question when it is asked on the forums and answer it when it is asked privately. If I really didn't want to answer questions, I wouldn't answer any. Doesn't make much sense to me.
Dear fellow developers, if you don't get an answer to your questions on the forum, that might simply mean that nobody encountered the issue/requirement you have, that also means you'll need to find other ways to get your answers, such as other forums, blogs and Documentum Support (PowerLink)
I guess I should have name this thread Blowing some steam but I was afraid some might misunderstand the subject and think I'm spaming the site with some dirty stuff ;-)
Nothing beat blowing some steam. I feel much better now. For those of you as frustrated as I am, feel free to comment and blow some of your own steam.
