Is it possible to create a PDF from a template and 'merge' fields?
Hi,
I know that we can generate custom PDFs using the Document Sciences products, and probably other 3rd party tools but...
We have a requirement to generate, on the fly, a PDF based on a template of some sort stored in the repository and have custom data injected into the final document such as name, address etc.
Now I've thought that we could do this programmatically fairly easily by using something like iText and an AcroForm but I wondered if there was a better Documentum way of doing it,i.e. DTS can convert a Word document to PDF, but can it do this whilst also populating fields with custom data?
Are there other products that can do this?
cheers,
