<p>Progressive Viewing is a popular feature designed to decrease response times when executing designs ondemand and viewing them in the Web Viewer. In Actuate 11 SP2 this feature has been enhanced to decrease response times even further by allowing content authors to specify that the data for a design is already sorted on the data source side based on thedesign‟s sorting and grouping logic. As a result BIRT does not need to re-sort it, which streamlines the outputgeneration process by minimizing the amount of data processing required. Additionally, this approach allowsthe first and consecutive pages of a design to be generated on the fly immediately after the data for eachpage is read, as opposed to waiting for all the design‟s data to be read first. The end result is that whenexecuting BIRT designs on-demand, users can view the first and consecutive pages faster than before. See a quick video to learn more about this new feature</p>
