<p>I have done integration of Birt engine in my Java web application by splitting run and render processes. Currently my biggest challenge is implementation of table sorting without rerunning the sql (sqls queries can take a while to provide the result set back) but using existing *.rptdocument file instead. So far I couldn't find any example of table sorting or discussion how to perform it in "render" step. I should mention that tables include also groupings and pagination.</p>
