Symbolic link directory goes away

OD base: w2k / od 5.5
OD rcvr: Solaris 2.8 / od 5.5

In our site we have a "symbolic link" pointing to the folder "ars". This folder is managed by our networking team and the content is NOT within teamsite.

OD is replacing the symbolic link with a directory. This brings down our site since the ars directory is required for our networking router to see that the site is up.

What is causing this or how can I prevent it?

The deployment is attached as conversion.txt (since xml files are not allowed to be attached)
