Disabling Generate &Preview buttons

Hi,
We are trying to hide the Preview and Generate buttons on the DCT. I've tried using a script i found on DevNet. It works fine, But the problem is with the timeout value .We dont want to change tje buttonframe.jsp . Is there any other way of achieving this?
Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.
