inline inside inline inside DCT

I know I can test this and find out, I am wondering if I can count on it being supported in future releases.

If I have a DCT that contains an inline tag, and that inline call returns substitution xml containing another inline tag, will templating execute the command in the inline tag that is in the substitution block?

The reason is, we don't want to maintain DCTs in the workareas, we want to maintain them in a central location. The solution that comes to mind is to use inlines, but there could be a better solution.
