This 7.5 Upgrade is just a beat down. It took me 3 weeks to get our wonderful DBAs to set me up with jdbc connect strings that would actually allow the installer to connect to the databases (Oracle 12). Now that I've finally been able to install with no errors, I can't log in to TeamSite. Only OS users can log in at this point - no LDAP users (via PAM). This has been a problem on every upgrade I've done (this is the third). The solution for the other two was to get a patch (they call it a workaround) to iwauthdstart that corrects some sort of issue with Linux and PAM. I'm waiting to find out if they can make it work with RHEL 6.6. One big difference between 5.5 and 6.6 is that it no longer used nscd to communicate with LDAP - there's some other method (/etc/sssd/sssd.conf) and I'm not sure if this will have anything to do with how TeamSite communicates with PAM or not. As with most of the infrastructure issues, this is all Chinese to me. But PAM has always been this weird black box that causes us problems. I'm just venting.
