Clearing a project from LSCS - need clarification

I updated the config file: ...\LiveSiteCSAuth\authoring\etc\deployment\config\lscs-authoring.xml

with new facets and mvfdelimiter attributes. My understanding is once I do that LSCS doesn't really behave correctly. I can verify that once you change this, new/updated documents don't properly get imported into the LSCS database.

The only solution anyone has every offered is to "clear the LSCS database." I believe I can just remove the project and redeploy everything.

From chapter 5 of the 7.4.1 LSCS Tech Ref manual (page 70) it says that I can execute:

http://<machine>:<port>/lscs/v1/projects/<project-name>?method=DELETE

But what it doesn't specify is which server(s) and how do I find the port number? Do I run this on the Authoring or Runtime server or both? Also where do I find which port? (We are using standard ports, so if you know the port numbers, I'd appreciate an assist on that.)

The instructions continue with instructions to "Perform a full deployment of the specified project..." but which deployment? Running the PLC on more than about 80 or 100 files at once tends to fail and'or takes FOREVER!
