Teamsite Search Hanging

We are developing a custom solution using Teamsite Search using CSSDK wherein, we are allowing users to enter search criteria like keywords, branch, some metadata and on submit of this form via AJAX, fetching data from TS Search by means of CSSDK search api and displaying this to users. The solution seems to work fine. We are restricting the number of search results to 500.

The challenge we are facing is when a user changes the criteria. If the number of matched results is less, around 60, then the user can change the criteria, and fire a query on hitting submit again and he/she sees results. But if the number of results is larte, like 150-200 all the way to 500 the first time, the search query hangs in the next run (As is see from the logs). If i refresh the screen and try again with the same criteria, i get results properly.

Has anyone faced such an issue before? I can share my some code if needed.
