Templating - Save Error: DCR is already modified

Hi,

we are using TS 7.1 and in our installation we are facing a peculiar issue in the templates.

When a new DCR is created, everything works fine. However when a DCR is edited, for every second click of "Save" (we tried both out of box save and custom save) we keep getting the following error message:

The file you are trying to save is being modified by different user. Do you want to overwrite the file?

And we get two buttons "overwrite" and "cancel".

Once the user clicks "overwrite" the issue will not come up for the subsequent saves. However if the file is closed and opened again for modification, the issue appears for the second "Save" click.

Also the logs say that the root cause is "DCR is already modifed". Who is already modifying the DCR?

After a good amount of research I found out that the issue occurs when we try to execute "Save" command on a DCR where version difference is found. When this issue occurs, teamsite executes the following file "dcr_save_overwrite.jsp" which is located in \httpd\webapps\content_center\formspub and displays the error message.

What I'm unable to understand is how a version difference is occuring in the DCR. I never submitted the DCR file, then how does the version difference occur? Or should I ask "What exactly is meant by DCR Version difference?"

Please help. I'm outta my mind trying to figure this out.
