Can't assign proper permissions/groups to new Domain users

We have a new Active Directory domain that we are migrating users to. When I created the accounts people can log in but they can't run the workflows becuase their accounts don't seem to have permission.

in the past I would just add the accounts via the config files and then you would see they would be a member of the localsystem\users this group has the domain users group with it as well. The Perl Executables look for this user to execute.

Im also seeing the following error in my logs

IWADSI::GetDomain: Failed to bind to directory root.
Failed to find DN for CORPORATE/scott_stewart.

is there something I am missing on my system to allow it to see all the proper domain permissions?
