Using an External call to insert file paths into component

I have a component that is calling a DCR to create an article page. I have another component that is building a summary page that is calling the same DCR(s). What I am trying to do is have the summary call the DCRs into it by reading the data directory and when I just regenerate the page it will automatically update the summary page based on new DCRs begin created. Has anyone done this and if so...can you assist me. Thanks.
