OD Receiver Upgrade on Windows Needs Reboot?

If we upgrade OD receiver from 6.0 to 6.2.1 on Windows server, should we reboot the Windows host? The installation guide says that, the Windows host should be rebooted.

I usually take the backup of config files, uninstall the current version and install the new OD version. I've not rebooted the server with this fresh installation.
