Blue Screen of Death

I have a strange issue. When I try to edit files through a mapped drive to the Y: drive it causes my server to crash and reboot.

If I access the Y drive on the server through a remote session (RDP) it works fine. The content store I am working with is copied from a TS 6.7 install and is on copied to a 7.2.1 install.

I think it's an encoding issue or something. If I make a file from scratch, then edit it there is no issue. But if I edit a file in that exact same folder, then it bombs out.

The server is running Windows 2008 SE 64 bit R2 on a VM.
