I have a requirement to setup hot folders for external vendors so they can easily add assets to mediabin. our company mediabin isnt external facing, so they cannot add them via the web client.
i know the documentation states "Hot folders can also be used to automate the insertion of assets into MediaBin, thereby enabling
network users to insert assets into the MediaBin repository from their desktops and without having to open any additional client software."
a few possibilities i can think of are
- enable hot folders somehow for these users?
- we may have to setup a hot folder on the network that vendors have ftp access to?
- we might also be able to use the mediabin web service to make an external page for vendors to add assets
