Hi everyone -
I've got an issue on my old 4.2.1 Solaris system.
The iwproxy service is running without a domain name. So if my machine name is teambob, the iwproxy service is running as teambob:1080.
I'd like to get the service to run with a domain name, so it would appear as teambob.foo.com:1080 where my domain is foo.com. I've tried a couple of things so far:
1) using the OS level command > domainname foo.com to set the machine's domain name to foo.com
2) adding ipalias_hostname=teambob.foo.com into the [iwproxy] section of iw.cfg.
After each of these tries, I did an iwreset and killed / restarted the iwproxy process. But, I'm still getting teambob:1080.
If anyone knows how to fix it, it'd be a big help. I looked at KB 1432 on the support site, but to no avail so far.
TIA
