Deployments hanging with zero bytes log file

We faced one issue recently where we had our deployments hanging. in the iwserverstatus output, there were 2 deployments but those were doing nothing. And when we checked all the deployments triggered for that OD instance(by ps command) there were many deployments which were triggered by iwodcmd command but not showing on iwserverstatus output. The strange thing was all these deployments' src logs became 0 bytes. A normal restart did not solve the issue and new deployments were still hanging. We had to remvove the db files in /db directory and restart OD.

Can anyone help understand why OD behaves like it.

We are useing TS - 6.5 SP3 OD - 6.1.1 on Solaris.
