Subversion Payload Adapter Documentation???

We are experimenting with the Subversion Payload Adapter and trying desperately to find some decent documentation to explain how things work as far as moving files around to and from SVN via OpepDeploy. We have figured out how to use the subversionCheckoutConfig.xml to configure how to "checkout" files from an SVN repository and deploy the files to a target server/path. What is not clear is what happens after that with SVN. Are the files really "checked out:"? Do they need to be checked back in somehow? If so, where's the documentation for that? If not, is it not truly a "checkout" that we're performing?

There is a severe lack of documention (surprise!) around the Subversion Payload Adapter. Who at Interwoven understands this process and can help us?

This is going to be a significant part of our workflow in the near future. We can't find any useful documentation. If we can't find an end-to-end solution, we will probably lose one of our biggest users of IW products.
