Scheduling ControlHub jobs

We currently use CH 2.1 and have a perl script that allows us to schedule jobs using variables (such as date). This script uses the iwwft_compile.ipl to instantiate the job. I am trying to determine if anyone has been successful doing this with CH 3.0.1. I do not believe that we can use the GUI scheduler because of the date variable. Any assistance would be appreciated.
