Nested Bullets in Visual Format

I'm having problems with nested bullets in Visual Format.

For example, when i try to create the following:

• list item 1
  
• list item 2
  • sub bullet 1
    
  • sub bullet 2
    
• list item 3
  

Visual Format will clean the html and spit out the following:

• list item 1
  
• list item 2
  
• • sub bullet 1
    
  • sub bullet 2
    
• list item 3
  

Notice the extra list item before the nested list? I cannot seem to get rid of that extra bullet no matter what I do. Does anyone have any suggestions?
