SocketTimeoutException

I'm using 4.5.3 of the MediaBin Web Service SDK with Java. When attempting to get an asset list of a container with a large number of images, I'm getting a SocketTimeoutException. It seems to timeout after 60 seconds. Is there a way to increase this timeout period, or else prevent/catch this exception?
