Workflow Modeler Datasources
System
Hi All -
Thought I'd post here while waiting for Interwoven Support to get back to me on the same issue...
We're starting to test out the Workflow Modeler that comes with TeamSite 6.7.1. Most of the standard stuff seems OK: get the model from the TeamSite server, work locally, push it back into TeamSite, configure it for a particular branch.
But I got stuck the other day trying to figure out the new Datasource Framework while customizing a workflow for a branch.
We want to:
1) create a workflow that has a few group tasks,
2) create TeamSite groups of the folks that will be mapped to the group tasks (for instance, if a workflow for the intranet has a QA approval step, we might create a group called IntranetQAGroup, add folks into it, and then customize the workflow for the intranet branch to utilize the new group to define who can do QA for the intranet),
3) customize the workflow for a branch to map the new TeamSite Groups to the workflow's group tasks.
I got to the point of customizing the workflow (step 3, above) when I got sent to the manual and found the section on Datasources. After reading the datasource sections a few times, I decided I didn't really know how to proceed and I opened a Support case to clarify the process.
These are some of the questions I've got about this area:
1) What registered datasources come out-of-the-box? Are there descriptions of their use?
2) Are any of the out-of-the-box datasources able to perform the choosing of TeamSite groups that I was attempting above? I ask this because there's one that looks like it might be intended to do that (choose groups), but I can't figure out how to get any groups to show in the the groups area. I'd rather not recreate the solution if it already exists.
Since it's been a few days in Support with no response yet, I imagine I'm breaking new ground - so I thought I'd post here.
Anyone have experience yet with the Datasources?
Thanks,
