Search unable to start

System

I'm working with what's probably a very messed up instance of Search and am very new to their installation so bear with me --

When trying to start the Index, it logs a bunch of **** to iw.tsindex.log and then comes out with the following:

[07 Mar 2007 15:25:48,899] WARN com.interwoven.hunter.index.BranchMapping (WrapperSimpleAppMain) - Initial database not found. Assuming no branches are indexed.
[07 Mar 2007 15:25:48,899] FATAL com.interwoven.hunter.index.IndexManager (WrapperSimpleAppMain) - Error in initialization of the Index Manager
[07 Mar 2007 15:25:48,899] FATAL com.interwoven.hunter.index.IndexManager (WrapperSimpleAppMain) - Could not access the path: Y:\

Everything else appears to be running normally. What might this be?
