Adding a checkbox to a DCT

Hello all,
I'm currently using TS 6.5 on Solaris and I know this is a simple question, but I'm going to ask anyway:

How do you create a check box that when the user checks the box a message displays in the datacapture.cfg file. Also the text has be the color red. I'm new to teamsite and have been reading the FORM API manual, but I need an example script to truly understand this. I appreciate the help. Thanks.
