Adding rendition to non current version in DFS
I understand that DFS won't allow modifying a non current version of a document.
I have read some posts about using DQL to update the properties. Freaking ugly if you want my point of view but I can live with that.
However, how do I get about to add a rendition to a previous (non current) version of a document ?
I can, kind of, understand why we should be able to modify a non current version, but renditions ????? Ain't that a basic, especially in a simple review/approve/superseed workflow ? The least you want to do is for example, change your watermark reflecting the status of the version.
To the EMC people out there:
- Can somebody try to explain why it is so poorly designed ? Let's not forget that DFS is basically a wrapper for DFC and if there's one thing that DFC does quite well, it's handling properly ALL versions of a document.....
- Do you know if it's going to stay like that in DFS ?
- If the answer to 2 is YES, what does that mean for the future of DFS ? Is developing DFS a dead end ?
