Inline callouts and hidden fields

Hi!

Can we set an item as hidden through inline callout! My problem is that In normal callout i am able to access the value of the field , but as soon as i try to make it hidden , i am not able to access the value of the field. Any suggestions?

i am doing the foll. in my datacapture.cfg

<hidden />
<inline command="/iw-home/iw-perl/bin/iwperl /iw-home/local/bin/save_validation.ipl" />
</item>


in my script i am doing the following

...
...
...
...
print <<EOF;

<substitution>
