TS event subsystem

TS 6.5 on Win2k3. I have the TS event subsystem working with mysql db. We have OD and DD installed, but DAS is not enabled. The Consumers table has a consumer called DDSub. The messages and message_handles tables have a number of messages intended for this consumer. But these messages are not consumed by DD so they just stay in the tables and the number is increasing.

Is there a way to configure the TS event subsystem so that it does not send out these messages? Will it cause me any problem if I run SQL delete statement to delete these from the tables directly?
